Record the publisher, page title, URL, publication or update date, and the claim supported by each source. Add a short limitation so a later editor knows what the source does not establish.
Keep one row per claim when a source supports several statements. This makes broken links, changed pages, and overstated conclusions visible during review.
Use primary and authoritative sources for important figures, and label estimates, surveys, and commentary accurately. A source list without claim mapping is not an evidence trail.
Archive the ledger with the article record. The next editor should be able to reproduce the reasoning without guessing which paragraph came from which page.
