Store the full source URL and the page title when the article is drafted. A title alone is not enough for an editor to find the evidence again.
Check links during publication and on a scheduled maintenance pass. Treat redirects, access blocks, removed pages, and changed content as review signals rather than silently replacing evidence.
Prefer stable pages from authoritative organizations for foundational claims. If a source is time-sensitive, record the retrieval context and explain its date in the article.
When a link must change, verify the replacement supports the same claim. Update the ledger and article together so the public page and internal record do not diverge.
