Define done at the record level

An outsourced labor completion standard should name the evidence that proves an item is complete. For a report, that may be the source population and period; for a support case, it may be the verified answer and dated follow-up.

Write the fields into the task template and show one accepted and one returned example.

Keep exceptions attached

A completed record can still have an exception. State what differed, what was done, and who must decide next. Do not hide a blocked dependency behind a green status.

Separate worker completion from final owner approval when the outcome affects money, policy, or a customer commitment.

Use completion reviews to improve instructions

Sample records for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and handoff usefulness. Categorize returns so the standard improves rather than becoming a longer checklist.

The best standard makes the next action obvious to someone who did not perform the work.
